Course description
Clinical update Reproductive and Sexual Health - day 1
This update session is a full-day event designed for GPs, Nurses and Midwives who wish to refresh and enhance their knowledge in reproductive and sexual health.
This full day face-to-face update session is led by Family Planning Australia clinicians and subject matter experts. Key topics covered include contraception updates, STIs, reproductive coercion, unintended pregnancy options and pelvic pain.
This session is designed to provide primary care clinicians with the latest clinical updates and practical tools to improve patient care in the fields of reproductive and sexual health. Delivered through a combination of expert lectures, case discussions, and interactive Q&A, the session focuses on key areas that directly impact everyday practice in primary care settings.
Workshops available - day 2
Clinicians will have the opportunity to participate in a range of workshops running concurrently (2-3 hours each), including
- IUD Refresher Training
- Cervical Screening Comprehensive Skills Training
- Contraceptive Implant (Implanon NXT) Insertion and Removal Training
- Menopause
Lunch will be provided on both days.
Who should attend?
Primary care clinicians (GPs, nurses and midwives) seeking to enhance their clinical knowledge and skills in reproductive and sexual health.
Course structure
This is a full-day face-to-face update session. It will equip clinicians with up-to-date clinical knowledge, evidence-based practices, and practical strategies for managing reproductive and sexual health concerns in primary care. Expert Family Planning Australia clinicians and subject matter experts will lead engaging presentations on each topic, with a focus on practical applications.
Optional workshops will be run concurrently on day two. This will require a separate registration.

Lunch included for all participants attending any session.
Recognition / Accreditation
Participants who attend the workshop will be issued with a Statement of Attendance that can be used as evidence for a self-recorded activity for CPD.
