Beyond the Nuts and Bolts

Course description

Want to update your knowledge about sexual health issues affecting young people?

Looking for activities and current resources that young people can relate to?

This course is designed for secondary school teachers and others working with young people in schools who wish to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills for providing education programs in relationships, sexuality and sexual health.

The course uses evidence-based principles that underpin effective education in reproductive and sexual health.  Participants experience practical learning activities to engage students and critically reflect on their current programs to improve practice and develop students’ health literacy.  Teachers will explore strategies to support young people to develop positive attitudes and behaviours, focussing on empowering students to make informed decisions and understand consequences for their reproductive and sexual health.
